Quantitative Imaging Data Warehouse (QIDW)

QIDW logo

RSNA supports the Quantitative Imaging Data Warehouse (QIDW) to promote the development and adoption of quantitative imaging by the imaging research and clinical radiology communities.

The open image archive meets the operational needs for basic research into quantitative imaging, as well as secondary analysis of archived images and metadata. The project is a joint effort between RSNA’s Quantitative Imaging Biomarkers Alliance (QIBA) and the RSNA Radiology Informatics Committee (RIC).

Funding for the project is provided in part by RSNA and with federal funds from the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering, National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services (Contract No. HHSN268201300071C).

Archived data includes images from QIBA-created or recommended physical test objects (phantoms), digital/synthetic reference objects (DROs) and clinical images with associated metadata. This data is available to assist with system testing and calibration of scanners, display stations, and imaging protocols and procedures, as well as algorithm performance evaluation of image analysis software packages.

The QIDW allows for bulk loading of files, storage, retrieval, and mining of structured and related non-image data, such as covariates, clinical, pathology results and protocol descriptions. It also provides for data mining of archive contents by image tags and associated metadata.

Tools

Use our DSC MRI image simulation to create digital simulations of DSC perfusion acquisitions.

The user may select 1 of 3 models, and select values for the many different acquisition parameters and assumptions about the imaged tissue. The website will then create a 4D DICOM image that the user can download that simulates those acquisition conditions.

Visit the DSC DRO modeling website.

Request forms

Contributor request for data upload

Potential contributors are QIBA participants and members of the research and clinical communities-at-large wishing to submit quantitative images and associated metadata.

Follow these steps to complete your request:

  1. Complete the QIDW contributor request form, requiring basic image and data upload details, such as file size, data format, de-identification and institutional IRB status.
  2. Sign either the clinical or non-clinical data contributor agreement. Once approved, clinical or non-clinical contributor agreements must be signed.
  3. Review the upload instructions, available to assist submitters with common database functionality.

Self-registration and data download

Anyone needing access to phantom, DRO or clinical images for quantitative analysis, system evaluation or algorithm comparison testing is considered a user.

Please visit the QIDW data inventory and request access by clicking "Register" in the upper right corner.
